The outstanding achievements by Henkel towards sustainable development have once again been honored by an independent body: Henkel is the winner of the “ESG Award 2008” in the category DAX (German Share Index) Businesses.
On the occasion of a festive ceremony, CFO Dr. Lothar Steinebach and Dr. Wolfgang Gawrisch, CTO Research/Technology and Chairman of Henkel’s Sustainability Council accepted the prize yesterday evening in Frankfurt am Main.
The contributions made by Henkel to the fields of environment, social responsibility and corporate governance (environmental, social, governance; ESG) are exemplary among the businesses represented in the German Share Index.
This is confirmed by the current distinction of Henkel with the “ESG Award 2008.” The Deutsche Vereinigung für Finanzanalyse und Asset Management (DVFA) the professional association of financial analysts – and the business magazine Wirtschaftswoche presented this prize yesterday evening in Frankfurt am Main.
The DVFA called on a team of experts to develop the evaluation criteria: 30 specialists from the worlds of business, finance, science and non-governmental organizations established guidelines by which the performance of share index listed companies in fields such as environmental sustainability, product safety and absentee rate for employees become measurable, thus making a comparison possible.
