This time it's stilettos at ten paces, because our candidates both look mighty fierce! Question is, who wore it better?

 

Kim Kardashian rocked the red carpet in the coral-colored gown last Friday at the 2010 Cosmetic Executive Women Beauty Awards in New York City. The "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star paired her figure-hugging gown with a multi-colored Talita spiked clutch and Alti platform pumps, both from Christian Louboutin, and an elegant updo.

Kimi Raikkonen Finland Formula One Racer

Kimi Matias Raikkonen born on October 17th, 1979 in Espoo, Finland is an outstanding Formula One racer with a string of successes to his credit.

Raikkonen the born winner started off karting at an early age and continued participating in several races. Displaying his amazing racing skills in 1999 European Formula Super A championship, Raikkonen finished 2nd. Thereafter he continued his winning spree, winning first four races in 2000 British Formula Renault Winter series, and in 2000 Formula Renault UK Championship, Raikkonen won seven of ten events. With that he achieved a grand 56 percent win rate - winning 13 of 23 events in all.

These spectacular results have straight away landed him a Formula One racing berth. Peter Sauber took a daring step in signing Raikkonen for his Sauber-Petronas team in 2001, which he test-drove it in 2000.

But F1 critics including FIA president Max Mosley expressed dismay over granting an F1 superlicence to Kimi Raikkonen, as he had only 23 car races to his credit. Trying to prove his critics wrong, Raikkonen made a flying start in his debut 2001 Australian Grand Prix and finished 6th in the race.

In 2002, he switched over to McLaren-Mercedes Team and raced for them from 2002 to 2006. Giving out the best of his performances in racing, Raikkonen finished 2nd conceding the title to Michael Schumacher in 2003 Formula One World Drivers' Championship. In 2005 Formula One championship Raikkonen repeated the feat and again finished, this time conceding the title to Fernando Alonso of Renault team.

Ferrari is proud to have signed a three-year deal with Kimi Raikkonen, the most exciting driver who has currently set his sights on the world championship title. He has twice come closer to winning the world championship title and only needs to take one step more to win the title.

Kimi Raikkonen won the Brazilian Grand Prix and took the Drivers World Championship title on October 2007. This is the first of his career and the fifteenth for Ferrari in Formula 1. This was win number fifteen from 122 race starts for Kimi.

Heroin Heroine

First, I apologize for not posting yesterday. Life has been a bit crazed as of late - but it's all good. And today's post is a little different as well. My friends at American Apothecary started designing t-shirts (like the one I'm wearing above) that showcase drugs that are now illegal or unhealthy but were once considered medicinal such as heroin, cigarettes (given to asthmatic children) and cocaine. With these daring designs, they hope to expand the public’s knowledge of our dubious pharmacological past and encourage people to consider what the future opinion of today’s widely prescribed drugs will be. Personally I think we're turning our children into zombies or speed freaks by deciding that they're all suffering from ADHD instead of admitting that they just need to get outside and burn energy. Leave those drugs to the club kids that really need them! (I'm kidding...kind of)

I used to live in Soho. Way, way back in the day - and hands down my favorite shop was the Selima Optique on Wooster Street. Now that Soho has become an upscale mall (it's newest resident a Croc store!) I avoid it like the plague. So I was thrilled that Selima Salaun opened a shop within EVA, a fantastic boutique on the Bowery that carries some of my favorite local designers like Katie Gallagher and The Twentyten. This photo is Stephanie Pappas, the founder of EVA, wearing the ZIA sunglasses that Selima made specifically for EVA New York. I love the old school drama of these glasses. I also love Stephanie's leggings? Tights? They seem like leggings because they don't have feet but they have the sheerness of hosiery...and for some reason I find this utterly intriguing!

Fashion UK to create Playboy fashion collection

Playboy Enterprises Inc announced that it has entered into a license agreement with Fashion UK to create a new collection of Playboy-branded men’s and women’s fashion apparel, which will be available in the UK and Ireland beginning in August 2010.

“We are excited to partner with Fashion UK, a well-established company that has specialized in licensed apparel, specifically fast-fashion, for many years,” said Adrianna Chinnici, vice president, licensing, Playboy Enterprises, Inc. “We look forward to revealing the new fashion-forward line of men’s and women’s apparel to consumers in the coming months.”

The Playboy-branded line will include vintage wash and jersey T-shirts – including music-inspired and embellished styles – as well as hoodies and joggers.

What I love, among many things, about the Olympics is the sheer, unfiltered joy on the faces of the women as they reach their goals. It may be a gold medal. It may be a personal best.
