Mariners, Royals honor Jackie Robinson

Both the Mariners and Kansas City Royals donned the No. 42 on their game jerseys on Friday night to celebrate Jackie Robinson Day. The Mariners have had 18 players wear the No. 42 in their history, but none — other than on Jackie Robinson Day — since Butch Huskey had it for 74 games during the 1999 season.

Gutierrez scratched
Mariners center fielder Franklin Gutierrez was scratched from his Class A rehabilitation assignment on Friday night, with team officials saying he wasn't feeling well. Gutierrez was to be re-evaluated on Saturday.

Aardsma workout delayed
Mariners closer David Aardsma had his simulated game postponed until Saturday morning because of rainy pregame weather.

The Mariners will try to get the simulated game in Saturday about an hour before their 10:10 a.m. PDT start.
